Monument als voluntaris catalans

La sortida amb la Colla aquest dimecres va ser de nou al Parc de la Ciutadella. Vaig veure aquesta estatua, que confesso no havia vist mai, i em va fer gràcia la seva ubicació al mig de les palmeres. Esta dedicada, segons diu la placa 'Als voluntaris catalans que van lluitar a França per la llibertat a les guerres de 1914-1918 i 1939-1945'.

The outing of last wednesday with La Colla was again to the Park of Ciutadella. I saw this statue, that I confess I had never seen, and I was surprised by its location in the middle of palm trees. It is dedicated, as the plaque said, 'To the Catalan volunteers who fought in France for freedom in the 1st and 2nd World Wars'.

Això ho he pintat a partir d'una foto que vaig fer aquest Nadal al preciós poble de Pasai, al costat de Donosti.

After the rain

I painted this from a picture taken last Christmas at the beautiful village of Pasai, close to San Sebastian.

Arc de Triomf i cúpules del Palau de Justícia

Darrera sortida amb La Colla. Com que un cop ja havía pintat l'arc des de l'altra banda, vaig aprofitar que feia sol per fer aquest contrallum.

Last outing with La Colla. As once I had already painted the arch from the other side, I took advantage of the sunny day to paint this backlight.

Veler al Port Vell de BCN

La sortida d'aquest dimecres amb La Colla va ser a Ciutat Vella però, com que no em venia de gust pintar carrerons i balcons, me'n vaig anar cap al Port Vell i vaig pintar aquest veler.

The outing of last wednesday with La Colla was at the old town but, since I didn't feel like painting narrow streets and balcons, I went to the Old Port where I painted this sailing ship.

Aquest Nadal m'he passejat per Euskadi. A part de Bilbao i Donosti on ja havia estat varies vegades, coneixia poc la costa que va d'una ciutat a l'altra. Aquestes son les aquarel · les que he pogut fer plein air, però he fet quantitat de fotos i espero fer-ne més a l'estudi.

Christmas at Basque Country

This Christmas holidays I have been wandering around the Basque Country. Apart from Bilbao and San Sebastian, where I had already been several times, I knew little of the coast  between both cities. These are the paintings I could do plein air, but I took lots of pictures and I hope to paint more at the workshop.

Platja del Somorrostro i Hotel Vela

Encara que conservi el nom del antic barri de barraques de la platja de la Barceloneta, aquesta és la platja situada devant de l'Hotel Arts, emblema de la Vila Olímpica de la nova Barcelona. L'edifici del fons és el nou Hotel Vela, obra del arquitecte Ricard Bofill.

Despite retaining the name of the former shacks quarter on the beach of Barceloneta, this is  now the beach located in front of the luxury Arts Hotel, emblem of the Olimpic Town of the new Barcelona. The building on the background is the new Vela (Sail) Hotel, by the architect Ricard Bofill.

Mercaquarel•la 2011

Aquestes son les 20 obres que presento enguany al Mercaquarel•la, el ‘mercadillo’ nadalenc que l’Agrupació d’Aquarel•listes de Catalunya celebra cada any, on es poden trobar aquarel•les d’una mida màxima de 34 x 44cm (paspartú inclòs) a un preu molt assequible (màxim de 100€).

L’exposició estarà oberta del 24 de Novembre al 22 de Desembre (excepte la setmana de pont de la Constitució, que romandrà tancada) de 10 a 13 hores  i de 18 a 21 hores) a la Sala de Exposicions de l’Agrupació, carrer de Diputació 423 (entre Sardenya i Sicília, banda muntanya, metro L2, Monumental).

És una bona ocasió per trobar obres d'art que podeu regalar, o regalar-vos, a un preu molt raonable. Animeu-vos i acosteu-vos-hi.

Watercolour Christmas Market

These are the 20 works I’ll show this year at the Christmas Market hold yearly by the Agrupació d’Aquarel•listes  de Catalunya, where you can find watercolours of a maximum size of 34 x 44 cm (mount included) at a very affordable price (maximum 100€).

The exhibition will be open from Nov 24th to Dec 22nd (except the week of  the Constitution) from 10 am to 1 pm and from 6 to 9 pm at the Exhibition Hall of the Agrupació, carrer de Diputació 423 (between Sardenya and Sicília, side Mountain, metro L2, Monumental).

It’s a good occasion to find works of art you can offer, or self-offer, at a very reasonable price. Make up your mind to go!
